Terms of Service
Last updated: July 19, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the UFinLit websites and application at u-finlit.com and app.u-finlit.com (the "Services"), operated by Financially Lit LLC ("UFinLit," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Eligibility
The Services are intended for high-school and college students and for personnel of partner institutions. If you are a minor, you may use the Services only where authorized by your school and, where required, your parent or guardian. If you access UFinLit through your institution, your institution's agreement with us and its policies also apply.
2. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity under your account. University users authenticate through their institution's single sign-on. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or disable accounts to protect the Services or at the direction of your institution.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: misuse or interfere with the Services; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system or data; probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Services without authorization; submit unlawful, harmful, or infringing content; or use the Services to violate any law or the rights of others. You will not attempt to manipulate lessons, quizzes, or the Campus Cash mechanic.
4. Campus Cash and Rewards
"Campus Cash" is an in-program rewards mechanic earned by completing educational activities. Campus Cash:
- has no independent cash value, is not currency, is not a bank account, deposit, stored-value, or financial product, and is not redeemable for cash;
- can be redeemed only for the benefits made available through your institution (for example, Dining Dollars), subject to your institution's participation, rules, and availability;
- is non-transferable and may expire, be adjusted, or be forfeited (for example, on account closure, error correction, or suspected abuse); and
- may be modified or discontinued. Redemption of institution-provided benefits is fulfilled by or through your institution, not by UFinLit as a financial service.
5. Educational Purpose; No Financial Advice
The Services are for educational and informational purposes only. Content does not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. UFinLit and its creators are not responsible for actions taken based on the content.
6. Intellectual Property
The Services, including content, lessons, and software, are owned by Financially Lit LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for their intended educational purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
7. Third-Party Services
The Services rely on third-party providers (including AWS, Okta, Amazon Bedrock, and Google). Your use may be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, to protect the Services, or at the direction of your institution. Account deactivation and data handling on termination follow our University-Directed Account Deactivation & Data Return procedure and the Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Financially Lit LLC and its owners, contractors, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Services.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
